STATEMENT OF FAITH GOD We believe there is one God, revealed in three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (2 Tim. 3:17) THE LORD JESUS CHRIST We believe in the Lord Jesus Christ - God manisfest in flesh, His virgin birth, that He is the eternal Son of God. (John 1:4, John 3:16) THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe that the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity proceeded from the Father and the Son, and is of one substance, majesty and Father glory with the Father and the Son. (John 16:8-11, 3:6-7, 14:26) THE HOLY SCRIPTURES We believe in the divine inspiration of the Holy Scriptures, as contained in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible as sole revelation of the mind in their original form as the divine Word of God. (2 Tim. 3:16; Heb. 4:12; 2 Pet. 1:19-21) THE DEVIL We believe in the person of the devil, who by his influence and power initiated the downfall of man and now seeks to destroy the faith of every believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and to hinder the further spread of the gospel of salvation through Jesus Christ. (Gen. 3:1; Rev. 12:9) JUSTIFICATION BY FAITH We believe that it is impossible to attain salvation through self-effort but all those who receive by faith Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are born again of the Holy Spirit, thereby becoming children of God, eternally secure in Him. (John 1:12, 3:3-7; Eph. 2:8-9) BAPTISM IN WATER We believe in baptism in water by immersion and that it is symbolic of our death, burial and resurrection with the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:19; Col. 2:12) BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT We believe that the evidence of being baptized with the Holy Ghost is speaking in tongues. (Acts 2:4) SANCTIFICATION We believe it is the glorious privilege of every believer in Christ to be made pure in heart and wholly sanctified by the operation of the Holy Spirit through the blood of Christ and the Word of God. (1 Thess. 4:1-8) THE LORD’S SUPPER We believe, in accordance with the command of the Lord Jesus, that we should celebrate this ordinance in remembrance of the atoning work of Christ and as an act of fellowship together. (John 6:48-51; 2 Cor. 11:23-26) THE RETURN OF CHRIST We believe in the physical second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, returning as He ascended. He will judge the dead and living. Those not found in the Book of Life will be consigned to everlasting separation from God. Those found in the Book of Life will enter into the glorious presence of God. (Acts 1:11; 2 Thess. 4:13-18) |
